Bandhini, which literally means "something that has been bound," refers to the art of tie-dying fabric. It is very popular in the state of Gujrat, where innovative new designs are mixed with traditional patterns. These fabrics are then used for lenghas, like the one seen here, as well as saris and other clothes.

We've taken a simple red-and-black bandhini lengha and embellished it with mirrorwork surrounded by multi-colored threads. We've given the skirt fullness and swing by adding a pink-and-black bhandini underskirt, a la Betsy Johnson.

This skirt can be worn with one of our T-shirts, or with the matching blouse and veil as seen here.
